Some issues are black and white. There is a clear right and wrong. Thanking someone who saves you from drowning? Good! Gratuitously threatening puppies? Bad! (and weird). Other issues have a lot more gray areas. They are more like continuums of virtue than polarized moral choices. Here is one such issue:
