Is Trump’s Club-Med Gaza Idea the Dumbest Idea in Human History?

How insane is President Trump’s plan to turn Gaza into Club Med Rafa? Let me count the ways.

First, full disclosure. I own…like….12 Neil Diamond records.

Second, relevant full disclosure. I’ve largely supported Israel during the post-October 7th war in Gaza. I think that Israel has little choice in the matter. They must eliminate Hamas, the theocratic terror-cult that promises to keep launching the types of slaughter we saw on October 7th (and before) until Israel and Israelis are no more.

That said, I have also written extensively about how many average Palestinians living in Gaza are as much the victims of Hamas as Israel is. And that Palestinians will never lead reasonable lives until they are no longer governed by ISIS clones.

I have also lamented the civilian toll that the Israeli operation was inflicted, while acknowledging the difficulty Israel faces in fighting an enemy who doesn’t give a badger’s tail about their citizens and uses them as human shields.

I also support a two-state solution, which neither the governments of Israel or Palestine seem to be interested in at the moment.
