Why Palestinians Would Benefit Most From the Removal of Hamas

This is not a post about tactics. Reasonable people, and even unreasonable people can disagree about the military tactics Israel is employing to eliminate Hamas.

To be clear, I am not a military expert. I’m not really an anything expert, except perhaps I’m an expert on what it’s like to live as a narcissist. But there doesn’t seem to be much call for commentary about that.

So while the love of hearing my own voice, or seeing my own posts has compelled me to weigh in on how Israel is conducting it’s campaign in Gaza, from a military perspective, I don’t really know what I’m talking about. In fairness, most of the people I debate aren’t military experts either. Plus, most of them probably aren’t narcissists, which gives me a leg up on them!

That said, I think that even the most rabid anti-zionists would concede that eliminating Hamas in SOME way would be good for Israelis. Hamas has sworn to murder Israelis and Jews “wherever they may be found” until Israel and all Jews in the region are gone. Even before February 7th, they launched constant terror attacks against Israel, sending over 1,000 missiles into Israel in 2022 alone.

They have no desire for peace or negotiations with Israel. There is no offer or concession that Israel could make that Hamas would be…
